  Been here about 6 times now. First 4 times it would of got 4 stars, but it seems to be going down hill! Inconsistent cooking, (snotty batter) last time. I thought maybe just an off day, so today I ordered a large haddock & chips, seemed to be 2 bits stuck together, smothered in batter and well overcooked this time! Nice chips though. (Would have only given it 2 stars if this was my only visit).
  
  Re visited today 22 April 2017 and it's back to awesome! I had haddock and chip, best ever, from anywhere.

  My wife and I have just enjoyed freshly prepared regular cod and chips and a pot of tea (each, and each enough for two cups) promptly served in this spotlessly clean establishment by friendly welcoming staff. The icing on the cake was the delicious home made tartar sauce. No one womder they've been in business for decades. Excellent. Highly recommended.
